Tourism emerges as a powerful engine that not only attracts visitors and resources, but also investors to Brazil, said the Brazilian Vice Minister of Tourism, Ana Carla Lopesduring the inauguration of the 11th edition of the WTM Latin Americathe event that brings together the tourism elite in the region, held from April 15 to 17 in the metropolis of São Paulo.

“This event, recognized as the most prominent in Latin America, strengthens Brazil’s position as a regional tourism epicenter. We host the United Nations Tourism Office for the Americas and the Caribbean, which urges us to support initiatives that drive development tourism in our region. This impulse attracts visitors, investors and fresh resources to our nation,” Lopes stressed with enthusiasm.

Lopes emphasized the importance of dialogue with various sectors of tourism to enhance this vital driving force of economic development and the fight against social inequalities in Brazil.

The “WTM Latin America” ​​stands out as one of the most relevant tourism fairs, where the travel industry meets to forge alliances and close agreements that strengthen the region’s position as a crucial player in the global tourism industry. According to the statement from the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism, more than 27,000 visitors were expected to attend.

The Brazilian Government took advantage of this platform to relaunch the “Get to know Brazil” program, aimed at promoting domestic tourism in the country, which has the largest economy in Latin America.

Additionally, during the fair, the vice minister presented the free book “Responsible Tourism: results that inspire”, supported by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Vivejar Institute. This work highlights ten examples of sustainable initiatives that are emerging as references in the Brazilian tourism sector.
