He Supervisory Body for Investment in Public Use Transportation Infrastructure (Ositrán) of Peruin compliance with its supervisory and sanctioning function, applied seven sanctions to concessionaires in the port sector in the first quarter of 2024.

In their breakdown, four of these were applied to Transportadora Callao SA for USD 17,748, two to Euroandinos Port Terminals Paita SA for USD 8,888 and one DP World Callao SRL for USD 11,724.

“All the sanctions applied were for non-compliance related to the quarterly measurement of service levels in port operations,” according to Ositrán.

It is worth mentioning that the Peruvian entity applied 11 sanctions in the analysis period, which amounted to the sum of USD 51,665. In the case of airport infrastructure, a penalty was imposed on Aeropuertos del Perú SA for USD 4,439.

The above “by not complying with maintaining the air conditioning systems at the airports of Iquitos, Pucallpa, Tarapoto, Tumbes and Trujillo with temperatures that do not exceed 26°C, contravening the provisions of the National Building Regulations, whose compliance is mandatory in accordance with the provisions of the concession contract,” stated the Peruvian organization.

In the road networks sector, three sanctions were imposed for a total of USD 8,875. Of these, one was applied to the Concesionaria Interoceánica Sur Tramo 3 SA for “having started the execution of an accessory work without having the approval of Ositrán.”

The other two sanctions were applied to the concessionaires Carretera Sierra Piura SAC and Carretera Andina del Sur SA for the amount of USD 4,437, each for the improper collection of fees. Additionally, corrective measures were established consisting of the return of amounts charged to users of USD 9,078 and USD 173,952, respectively.
