An eleven-year-old minor was reported as responsible for stealing more than 6,000 euros in cash in broad daylight from the checkout of a supermarket in the Italian town of ferrara (Emilia Romagna, north), the Police reported this Monday.

According to researchers, The thief entered the business and, after taking the keys to a safe that were in the establishment, he accessed an area reserved for employees, where the previous day’s collection was kept.

One of the store’s cashiers tried to stop him, although he managed to push her and escape with three boxes where they kept the collection money without leaving a trace.

In the struggle, the minor lost a backpack, inside which two of the three boxes with the stolen money were found, although he kept the one that kept the largest amount of the collection, more than 6,000 euros in cash, according to the police.

Through viewing the security cameras of the affected premises and videos published on social networks, as well as numerous testimonies, the agents managed to reconstruct the steps that the minor took until finally identifying him.

The Ferrara Police has put the images of the accused young man in the hands of the judicial authority so that they can assess his accusation, according to the note.
