“The National Electoral Council called for new elections to be held on July 28 of this year with the objective of electing the president of the Republic,” said the diplomat before an audience also made up of political scientists, jurists, and leaders of social organizations.

Trómpiz reported that at present there are 11 candidates supported by 37 political organizations that met all the legal requirements for registration before the National Electoral Council.

He explained that of them, 10 belong to the opposition, who have the support of 26 organizations of the 37 registered.

Trómpiz specified that only the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) endorsed the nomination of President Nicolás Maduro, with the signatures of more than four million 500 thousand signatures of militants and grassroots leaders.

He described that for this purpose, popular assemblies were held in 269 thousand streets, 50 thousand communities and 14 thousand electoral centers throughout the national territory, where the PSUV has organizational structures.

He stressed that, for this reason, the hegemonic media at the service of the United States Government and the sector of the Venezuelan opposition related to Washington’s aspirations for domination, are trying to delegitimize Maduro’s very possible victory.

Trómpiz reiterated that all candidates and organizations presented themselves under the same conditions, requirements and the same periods, and that in this sense there is no differentiation, exclusion or exclusivity for any political organization or candidate.

He clarified that candidates who are disqualified from holding office due to legal issues were left out.

“The internal right and the United States resort to lies and spread it in their hegemonic media, with the intention of imposing the false matrix that the Bolivarian Revolution prevented the inclusion of one candidate or another, which is a lie,” the ambassador reiterated. .

He clarified that “the agenda against Venezuela is the agenda for the appropriation of the world’s first oil reserve, the Venezuelan one, and everything that is done against our country has as its final objective the appropriation of our natural resources,” he said.

He described that these elections mean the ratification of the commitment “of our people with the founding of a Bolivarian Republic with bases of independence, based on the thought of Simón Bolívar and the first leadership of Commander Hugo Chávez.”

“Regardless of what the hegemonic media publishes and everything that is said, on July 28, it will be the Venezuelan people who decide,” the ambassador concluded.
