Pretoria, June 17 (RHC) The South African authorities announced that they have everything ready for the inauguration ceremony as President by Cyril Ramaphosa, on the 19th in Pretoria.

As recalled by the Minister of the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa prescribes that the President of the Republic must take the oath within five days following his election by the National Assembly (Parliament).

Last Saturday, the 15th, Ramaphosa, of the African National Congress (ANC, the country’s main party), received 283 votes from the newly appointed parliamentarians, against the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party, Julius Malema, who received 44 votes from parliamentarians.

The investiture ceremony, Ntshavheni explained, will bring together South Africans of all origins, lifestyles and political orientations, united in characteristic national diversity.

It will also be an occasion to celebrate the commitment that the seventh administration will be led by a Government of National Unity, which, although made up of more than three parties, will be led in practice by an understanding between the ANC and the Democratic Alliance (second political force in South Africa).

According to the Minister, national and foreign dignitaries, including Heads of State and Government, are invited to the ceremony at the Union Building (government palace).

In line with the programme, Ramaphosa will deliver his inaugural speech. (Source: Prensa Latina).
