Description submitted by the project team. Aria residential building is located in Farmanieh district, north of Tehran, which is a green area with great views. Access to the site is easy due to its location surrounded by 3 streets and with neighborhoods on the east side. Therefore, the design team decided to create two different entrances to the building, one for parking on the south and one for pedestrian access on the north. This arrangement provided adequate natural light for the building.

The land area is 555 square meters and the total area is 4270 square meters over 15 floors. This building consists of 10 residential floors with individual units of 240 square meters each. The ground floor includes a lobby and gym center, floors -1 to -3 include parking spaces, each with a separate entrance and ramp due to terrain limitations, and level -4 includes a swimming pool, a spa center and a meeting room. The design strategy of the green roof complex was to create panoramic views of the surrounding hills in a warm seating area. Residential plans include two different types that differ in the location of the kitchen and living room, as well as their circulations. In type A, the living room is more private.

One of the main challenges in the design process was the scale of the building envelope, considering its width and height, which resulted in a tall, narrow building. The location of the main living areas in the southern section helped us have an integrated space in the southern facade, which provided wide openings. Moving away from the city’s more traditional all-glass skyscrapers, the team decided to bring quality and depth to the urban façade. Through an innovative approach to materials and construction, the building’s distinctive facade consists of a double skin in the living areas.

All exposed concrete panels were constructed in the workshop, resulting in an exciting experience of producing facade materials at the construction site. Through different procedures related to mixing methods and their vibration time, we achieved the desired result in terms of quality and design. 18,000 pieces of these elements were produced in 6 different types. On the west wall, part of these tiles were installed with mortar and part were installed with a freestanding frame in a dry installation.

Light control on the western façade was achieved by reducing the size of the windows in the private spaces and the façade panels. The second skin of the façade, from north to south, gradually becomes more transparent and the space between the two skins is designed to accommodate the placement of plants and green spaces.
