Who is Fabián Pérez, the artist who painted Milei as Napoleon

Fabian Perez He was born in the Buenos Aires town of Campana. Although he tried to dedicate himself to football – he made the youth team in Villa Dálmine – he had to abandon his dream after the death of his parents. Years later, he settled in the United States and developed his career as an artist. This led him to meet figures such as Diego Maradona, Pope Francis and now the President.

As the artist explained, his inspiration to create Milei’s portrait came thanks to the premiere of the film “ Napoleon ”: ““It seemed barbaric to me because it was super well-known and it seemed appropriate to portray him in a moment of truce, where the guy was trying to fight against this whole system, against this caste that he calls him, but sitting down, taking a breath,” Pérez said in an interview with TN.

In that sense, he commented on the responses he received after creating the work: “It had a lot of impact, many comments for and against, obviously. The people who like Milei and liked the painting, the people who are against it criticized it a lot and it seems barbaric to me, it seems good to me that people express themselves and say what they want. “Everyone has the right to choose and have their opinion.”

The artist was able to meet Milei this Monday in the middle of the president’s tour of the United States. There, he gave him the work and through his social networks the President shared some photos of the meeting.

Fabián Pérez approached art during a trip to Europe where, after a while, he began to gain recognition and decided to migrate to the United States where, he says, he experienced his “boom”: After a year and a half or two, I began to have a quantity of paintings to make a sample and that was when I was able to experience painting 100%.”

With the arrival of social networks, he was able to share his works about figures from the world of sports, culture and politics: “The idea of painting players and celebrities is a series I am doing called Living Legends (Living legends). It is to honor in life all these people who were so influential in our lives, whether when they were young or right now.”he explained.

Pérez painted pictures and got to know Diego Maradona, Ángel Di María, Kun Agüero, Pato Fillol, Pep Guardiola, Mike Tyson, Pope Francis.

Like every Argentine, His wish is to meet Lionel Messi: “I already worked two or three times on different projects with him, with his foundation for children. I hope to know him for myself, but above all for my children who love and idolize him. They live only thinking about what Messi does. It is incredible what moves this human being. The good that he does for the sport and for the kids, not only for what he does on the field but as a human being. I hope my children always have an example like Leo,” he concluded.
