Porziuncola.

The Parish of Our Lady of the Angels – La Porciúncula, or simply Parroquia de la Porciúncula, is located on Carrera 11 and Calle 72, next to the Avenida Chile Shopping Center. There is a sculpture of Saint Francis of Assisi that until a few years ago was accompanied by a wolf and a deer, since he is considered the patron saint of animals.

In March 2012, the parishioners of the La Porciúncula church alerted the father of the church about the absence of the bronze deer that had accompanied the monument to Saint Francis of Assisi since 1983. Apparently, the thieves melted the bronze with some type of acid in order to take the sculpture.

The first police versions indicated that the theft could have been committed by street residents who took the deer to sell it in a china shop. But after 12 years of the vandalism, no details are known about his whereabouts.

@quinteropfeifer Did you know the story of the deer that was stolen near the Avenida Chile shopping center? What do you think happened to that piece of the monument?
