“Granada has been the engine of my creation”

The CajaGranada Cultural Center hosts the exhibition ‘The Ages of Miguel’ in a journey through the life and professional career of Miguel Ríos. A new space that highlights the figure of the artist around the rock and the role of Granada as a city of music. The exhibition has been organized by the Granada City Council, the Miguel Ríos Foundation and the CajaGranada Foundation.

On the occasion of Miguel Ríos’ 80th birthday, Granada will become the scene of celebration this weekend with ‘Granada All Stars’. The artist’s festival highlights the city’s musical culture through his legacy and career.rocker‘. With the inauguration of this exhibition, the artist begins his most special weekend.

Supported by his great friends during the opening of the exhibition, Miguel highlighted that “Granada has been the driving force of my creation and this city needs more things to be given back.” In addition to showing his commitment to the city where he was born, he has also recognized the commitment of young Granada artists: “I am not a local artist, you are,” he noted, ” I had to leave very young because nothing was happening here, you have made it possible for something to happen.”

“Many musicians have had the vocation to make Granada an important springboard,” Ríos added, “this is just a small first stone.” Also the coordinator of the exhibition, Alejandro Víctor García, has highlighted the deep feeling of the artist towards his hometown, “all of his efforts are aimed at returning to Granada what this city and its followers have given him throughout of the years”. To which he added that this exhibition “is a collective gift for your 80th birthday.”

“For those of us who have accompanied him throughout his career, today we are happy for that decision to have here, in this space, part of his legacy,” highlighted Elena Martín Vivaldi, president of the Board of Trustees of the CajaGranada Foundation.
