From a meeting between the fashion designer Isabel Zapardiez and the person responsible for The Central Art Gallery, Lourdes Pérez Patxo, whom Zapardiez had dressed on some occasion, the possibility arose of meeting Gipuzkoan artists who for the designer are a “source of inspiration” and, in addition, friends. And from there was born the Florakción exhibition presented today at La Central Art Gallery (Calle Nueva, 5), which can be visited starting this June 13 for two months.
This is an exhibition with Zapardiez models, paintings by Brutus Art and sculptures of Juan Luis Biain. Plus a soundtrack that is the work of Mikel Erentxun‘Bending the Wind’, and a recipe for Elena Arzak in the shape of a chocolate. With that and the augmented reality of Virtual Txoko The result is a walk for the visitor who, as the authors say, wants to reach all the senses.
The friendship of the designer Isabel Zarpadiez with these travel companions comes from afar. She frequently goes to the workshop. Biainwhom he has known since they were children, and shares space with Brutus Artwho in addition to being a friend is also family.
At the presentation this morning, the designer recalled how on one occasion, returning from London, Mikel Erentxun asked her what she was going to be inspired by for her next collection. «I answered him, since I am with you, in rock and roll. And it was one of my best collections and Mikel also played throughout the show. They are artists and I am an artisan, a dressmaker.«said Zapardiez.
For his part, it is the first time that Erentxun composes without lyrics and the experience, a five-minute soundtrack, has been so positive that he wants to develop this genre.
This exhibition, which has a traveling purpose, is free access and will be open to the public from tomorrow June 13th to August 13th. It can be visited at La Central Art Gallery on Calle Nueva 5 during the following hours: Monday to Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sundays, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
