Book Fair in Esquina: “The community took over the public space”

“The community appropriated the public space,” said Mariano Coria, director of Culture in the town, about the Corner Book Fair and the Corrientes History Congress. He pointed out the importance of neighbors being an active part of these cultural encounters.

“We are living these days with great intensity, the truth is. We are crossed by the Book Fair and the History Congress of the Province of Corrientes that is being held here in Esquina,” he explained.

“This is the first year in which the Fair is seen as a cultural product of Esquina that must be defended. And I believe that the History Congress has also come to crown and provide that structure so that the Book Fair also has that preponderance,” he said.

“The truth is that all cultural events not only need to be born, there is also another job that has to do with sustaining them and working on them every year so that they continue to grow, because the truth is that what stagnates, what remains still, we know that it dies,” he added.

The Esquina book fair will run until June 30. This will be the 6th edition of the town’s book fair, but it promised to be unique for its numerous shows and personalities who will give talks on stage.
