The bets of independent publishers from the regions come together in País de Libros, a new chapter of Minculturas at FILBo 2024

  • 61 publishing projects have a space to offer the public a unique opportunity to explore the diversity and literary wealth of Colombia.

Bogotá, April 19 #Filbo2024. The Ministry of Culture, Arts and Knowledge, from its Directorate of Strategy, Development and Entrepreneurship (DEDE), and the National Library are present in the Independent Pavilion of the Bogotá International Book Fair (FILBo), in the stand 202, with the País de Libros bookstore, which is operated by the Colombian Association of Independent Booksellers (ACLI).

This initiative is dedicated to supporting independent publishers from different regions of the country, with the aim of highlighting their valuable bibliodiversity.

The País de Libros bookstore is located in the Independent Pavilion of the Bogotá International Book Fair (FILBo), at stand 202.

This project also seeks to highlight regional creation and production, giving voice to different actors in the book sector who tell unique stories in the national literary sphere. The curation of the bookstore has been carried out in conjunction with the Colombian Chamber of Independent Publishing, with the purpose of offering a wide selection of publications.

61 independent publishers are present at the stand, which represents a unique opportunity for the public to explore the literary wealth of Colombia and support emerging talents from the regions. The editorial projects that participate come from Floridablanca (Santander), Neiva (Huila), Villavicencio (Meta), Pereira (Risaralda), Manizales (Caldas), Soacha (Cund​inamarca), Barranquilla (Atlántico), among others.

The País de Libros bookstore is a commitment to democratize access to culture through the book ecosystem.

Likewise, this bookstore will be a meeting place in which different actors in the chain of creation, production and circulation of knowledge and knowledge will share their collective trajectories, collaborative work strategies and challenges to consolidate the sustainability of their projects.
