The author of this important work is the Samarian lawyer and writer José Eduardo Barreneche Ávila, who will present this book today at Filbo 2024 in Corferias, Bogotá.

Today, starting at 1:00 in the afternoon, at the Bogotá International Book Fair, Filbo, the Samarian lawyer and writer José Eduardo Barreneche Ávila, will present his work titled “Verses that sprout, in times of emancipation,” his first poetic publication, with which he pays great tribute to the identities of the Colombian Caribbean region and which are part of our society.

The literary work “Verses that sprout, in times of emancipation”, addresses in its content topics such as the emancipation of women, ethnic diversity, admiration for the tribal peoples originating from Colombia and the Colombian Caribbean region, as well as notable aspects of the human being and social achievements, the ethnic diversity of our country, nature and its protection, in addition, it approaches such critical issues as drug trafficking and corruption, among others.

This new book by Dr. José Eduardo Barreneche Ávila, which he puts to the consideration of all Colombians, is characterized by its social content through poetry, which invites us to embrace honesty, morality, respect and integrity, having at the center woman as a valuable being of divine origin, who requires emancipation, and also emphasizes the need to respect indigenous and tribal peoples and the rejection of what is illegal, through the “protest verses.”

The word emancipation is synonymous with liberation, through education, which is why the title of the aforementioned work is a stimulus for all those people who study, prepare and work, so that they are aware that through that path everything is achieved in life.

According to the explanations provided by the author, “on the cover of the book “Verses that sprout, in times of emancipation”, we can see the hand of a writer who, with the power of his pen, letters and verses, liberates a Afro and indigenous women and allows them to obtain knowledge through education, respecting their worldview and leading them to climb that social ladder, to that social promotion to which we all aspire.”

He continued saying that “in my verses you will find a story to tell, a song to sing, a play to perform, and the staging of a social need. My poetry will not be a refuge but a mechanism that society will take as a way of educating.”

José Eduardo Barreneche Ávila was born in 1978 in Santa Marta, he is a lawyer by profession with specializations and master’s degrees in various branches of Law, he has worked as a columnist in the media, and a professor at universities.

He is passionate about literature, he has written several articles on culture and music, such as “Piano and Vallenato: a hidden courtship”, “Mamá Iguana, our mythological mother”, and his recent work with a social poetry focus: “Verses that They sprout, in times of emancipation”, his first poetic publication.

For José Eduardo Barreneche, the aforementioned works are just his beginnings as a writer, because he plans to publish his first novel in 2025 and as a Colombian and Samarian, he wants his works to be taken into account by this generation and those to come, and to analyze his social message. , taking into account that he considers that social poetry can be a mechanism of rejection of the evils that have done so much damage to Colombia.
