Through the biography of seven researchers -Lorena Lobos (Biochemistry), Brigitte Van Zundert (Molecular Biologist), Francisca Blanco (Phytopathologist), Paula Celis (Marine Biologist), Jocelyn Dunstan (Physics), Natalia Inostroza (Astrochemistry) and Teresa Paneque (Astronomer) )- the authors review their paths, school experiences, academic training, hobbies and life projects, glimpsing where their scientific vocation and research interests originate.

Also how, despite the difficulties, they have faced the challenges by becoming outstanding experts in their areas of knowledge, thus questioning traditional gender roles. Furthermore, thinking about science teachers interested in incorporating a gender perspective, a detailed analysis of the school curriculum is included.
