Within the framework of Filbo, a group of Latin American professionals will launch the Sakura Editores publishing house, which aims to publish non-fiction works that allow readers to learn about the most relevant aspects of culture, economy and technology. from Asian countries. The publishing house opens in the industry with the work ‘Japanese ritual and ceremonial’ by Kanzaki Noritake.

Rosa Cárdenas, co-founder of Sakura Editores, and who lived in Japan for nearly a decade after completing a master’s degree at Sophia University in Tokyo, indicates that “it is a way to pay tribute and gratitude to the Japan that those of us who had the opportunity to obtain a study scholarship in that country.” “It is our intention to contribute to the creation of a link through knowledge, through books, between our Latin American region and the great Asian continent,” he points out.

That first launch, which was originally published by the Japanese publisher Diamond for the public in that country, compiles the depth and magic of Japanese traditions, In addition, it manages to reach its Spanish version thanks to the translation by Betsy Forero Montoya, PhD in Japanese Studies from the Tsukuba University and currently a professor at the University of the Andes.

This first editorial work focused on Japan is, for Lila Silgado, editorial coordinator of the work, an opportunity to see reflecteds in another culture the same local concerns, such as respect and care for the memory of those who are no longer here, for example.
