The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Diaz Ayusoattended this Tuesday with sneakers to the event chaired by the Queen, who also wore this type of footwear, in the Royal Post Office. Both have also coincided with the choice of a jacket and pants suit, light blue for Ayuso and white for the Queen.

Doña Letizia announced the day before that she will not be able to wear heels or very tight shoes for a while, after fracturing the phalanx of the central toe of her right foot. And Ayuso, as host of the eventwhich was held at the headquarters of the Community of Madrid, has decided to show solidarity with the Queen and also go with slippers.

Doña Letizia has presented the SM Awards for Children’s and Young People’s Literature El Barco de Vapor and Gran Angular. Specifically, she has presented the children’s literature award to Pedro Caldas by The legend of the samurai and the blue butterfly and the youth literature award to David Lozano by Intruder. These prizes, endowed with 35,000 euros eachare the largest in Spanish in their categories.

During the delivery, the Queen encouraged “turn off screens and turn on minds” picking up a good book and starting to read.

After congratulating the award-winning writers, Doña Letizia stated that “these two award-winning books, very different in appearance, also contain common ingredients: an investigation into How we should protect what we cannot see, “respect for seniority, the importance of friendship, the attentive beauty of light and the convenience of abandoning prejudices and the black and white Manicheanism and understanding the scope of the grays in life.”
