They repeatedly ask him how he has managed to write so many books while being in charge of various projects and responsibilities. That’s when the rector of the National Open and Distance University (UNAD) smiles proudly and insists that he always ends up looking for writing.
Colombianidad is a term that has not yet been recognized by the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language; but it is a thirteen-letter word that speaks of the strength, diversity, customs and virtues of Colombia, but also the weaknesses and challenges of those of us who were born here.
That is why, throughout twelve essays, Leal covers the history and events that have left their mark on the territories and fields of the country. In this way, he insists on transforming education both in the system and in public policy. To try to recover the essence and identity of Colombians.

“The book is not an answer, the book is a seed that generates reflections around a mission where the fundamental thing of education is to sow axiological values. For example, parents today do not need to have so much time, they need quality time, but they have to be very clear about those values to teach and spread them.” The launch of ‘Colombianitude’ will take place today at the Cafam Theater of Fine Arts, at 5 in the afternoon.
