Esteban González Pons and Marta Robles will be the stars of the literary Book Festival

The writer and politician Esteban González Pons and the novelist Marta Robles are emerging as the star guests of the Mi Pueblo Lee literary festival that will take place in Books throughout the next June 8 and 9. The activity will take place in the Plaza de Javier Sierra, the scene of the fourth edition of the event, which takes advantage of the name of the town as an argument for the organization.

The program includes meetings with authors, book signings, storytelling and performing arts shows. It will begin on Saturday the 8th, with the opening of the craft market, storytelling and will end on Sunday the 9th, with children’s workshops, poetic action, vermouth and theatre.

José Herrero, president of the Teruel Community Region, wants to “recognize the municipality heroism of Books that, together with the rest of the Spanish municipalities that are part of the Mi Pueblo Lee circuit, work actively and successfully to innovate and complement the traditional circuits of publishers and campaigns to promote reading.

The mayor of Libros, Raúl Arana, points out that “Libros hosts the Mi Pueblo Lee literary festival for the fourth consecutive year. In 2021, Javier Sierra was the guest authorin 2022, the writer and journalist Sonsoles Ónegain 2023 she was also a writer and journalist Elvira Lindo. All the authors have plaques that rename streets in Libros, a municipality that, little by little, is consolidating itself as a literary tourist destination. In addition, the Books library-hotel project has already been presented. The #librosaLibros campaign spread across international, national and local media. Until now more than 40,000 books have arrived to the town.”

On Saturday the 8th, the guest writers will be Esteban González Pons and Marta Robles. On the morning of June 8 at 11:30 the craft market will be inaugurated, followed by a storyteller “Monster Hunters”, with Daniel Tejero. Later, at 1:00 p.m. he interviews and signs books with the politician and writer Esteban González Pons. In the afternoon, at 6:00 p.m. there will be a meeting with the journalist and writer Marta Robles. At 8:00 p.m. theatrical show “And dreams… are books.” Saturday’s day It will end with a concert at 11:00 p.m. by singer-songwriter Isabel Marco.

On June 9, the morning will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a puppet and marionette workshop “Colored Boat,” with Alejandra Venturini, followed by a poetic action with pennants of poems that will be hung around the town, as well as poetic airplanes. At 12:00 p.m. the writer Offreds, with a million followers on Instagram, will talk about his novels. The festival will close at 5:00 p.m. with the “Puppeteers of Binéfar”.

José Gabriel Pérez, Minister of Culture, highlights “the work of the municipality of Libros that has managed to maintain its fourth edition of a literary festival that allows us to get to know top-notch authors as well as attendance at cultural activities to promote reading, creating a rural reading circuit.”

Both the president, the Minister of Culture and the Mayor of Books want to encourage the participation of the inhabitants of the Teruel Community Region to attend the literary festival due to the diversity of activities surrounding reading. The municipality has prepared a program that during the two days will allow the enjoyment of a wide range of cultural activities free of charge and for all age groups.
