This is the cheapest new 4×4 SUV car on the market

Renault Argentina announced the arrival at dealerships of the new Duster, the small segment SUV that was renewed to update its design, add technology and safety.

The 2024 version was presented during the summer at the brand’s stand in Cariló, as automotive companies do every year, and now it debuts in sales halls with its three versions and defined prices.

In this way, the SUV that is imported from Colombia is positioned as the cheapest 4×4 model in the segment, since the three versions, which are Intens 1.6 MT (the Intens CVT is no longer sold, which was the cheapest with box automatic), Iconic 1.3T CVT and Iconic 1.3T MT 4×4, have a price of 27,895,000 pesos.

The value, the same for the entire range, is because it is “capped” so that it is not reached by the internal tax, which affects vehicles with an amount greater than 28 million pesos. Although it is the suggested list price, this fictitious limit can cause surcharges to arise at dealerships, because models with different equipment levels cannot have the same value.

What changed in the new Renault Duster

The small SUV presents a renewed design on the outside, incorporating LED headlights with integrated DRLs, a new taillight design and a glossy black front grille.

In the Iconic versions, it incorporates a new design of the roof bar with the Duster insignia, version identification badge, glossy black rearview mirrors with orange details, 17″ diamond-cut and darkened wheels, and a new color Metalith Gray front and rear ski jacket.

The renewed Renault Duster added 17-inch wheels.

As for the inside, A middle console with armrests is incorporated for the entire range and a new upholstery design in the Iconic versions, with orange details to match the exterior of the vehicle.

Motorization and safety of the SUV car

In mechanics, these models do not present changes. The Intens version continues with the engine 1.6 115 HP with five-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive.

The version Iconic is offered with the engine 1.3 turbocharger with 163 hp, combined with two transmission options: CVT automatic and 2WD front-wheel drive; or six-speed manual transmission and 4WD all-wheel drive.

Safety is where the most important change occurred, since as standard, they come with 6 airbags (front, side and curtain). The top-of-the-range versions have rain sensor.

The new Renault Duster added 6 airbags as standard.

Lastly, in technology, adds three USB-C ports (one in the front and two in the back) and wireless charger for Iconic versions.

“This launch represents a new milestone for Renault in our country and a renewal for a model that arrived for democratize the 4×4 in the Argentine market,” said Valentina Solari, Commercial Director of Renault Argentina.

Renault Duster Competitors

The renewed SUV competes with models such as Volkswagen T-Cross, Chevrolet Tracker, Fiat Pulse, Citroën C4 Cactus and Nissan Kicks.

In addition, it faces Jeep Renegade, the only one in the small segment with 4×4 traction, but which has a value in this version of 48 million pesos.

Thats why he Duster is the cheapest for those looking for a vehicle in this segment with all-wheel drive.
