For years, offers from bank accounts offered by financial institutions had presented little variability, offering very similar services to each other. However, with the arrival of the internet and the emergence of new agents in the market financial (such as online banking), the banking landscape has evolved towards greater diversification in its offer.

A clear example of this innovation occurred with the emergence of ING as the first 100% online bank in the Spanish market, which represented progress towards more flexible, as well as competitive, proposals. Recently, the ‘orange bank’ launched a promotional campaign for its Payroll Account with a special appeal for its clients.

Since April 15, the entity offers the possibility of reimbursing up to 120 euros gross in expenses made in supermarket chains, among which Alcampo, Mercadona, Carrefour, Lidl, Eroski, Dia, or Hipercor stand out. This refund, which will be 15% of the amount spent in these stores using one of the free cards linked to the account, is available for a period of six months.

Recently, the ING bank has completed a financing agreement for 20 million euros with AGR Biogás for the construction of a biomethane plant located in the province of Grenade. The highlight of this financial operation is that it constitutes the first biogas project in Spain that is financed through the project financing modality.

The beneficiary, AGR, is a pioneering firm in Andalusia in the field of promotion, construction and management of industrial biogas plants. With this operation, ING facilitates this company with the construction of a plant with approximately 55 gigawatt hours (GW/h) of annual biomethane production in La Calahorra, Granada. In addition, this plant will allow the processing of more than 100,000 tons of livestock and olive grove waste in the area, thus supporting the primary sector to meet waste management objectives.

ING, in its commitment to sustainability and the financing of projects that have a positive impact on the environment, supports this joint project with AGR Biogás, aimed at avoiding the direct emission of more than 20,000 tons of CO₂ annually to the atmosphere and that will also support the primary sector in rural areas.
