On May 10, Banco Ciudad will again auction four vehicles belonging to the fleet of the Chamber of Deputies of the Nation, among which is the luxury van that Sergio Massa used from 2021.

These four vehicles are part of the fleet of 46 units which had been auctioned last April 8 and for which some 370 million pesos.

Despite the total million-dollar figure, the president of the Chamber of Deputies Martín Menem gave his thumbs up to four specific lots considering that the figure achieved in each one had been insufficient.

“The Chamber of Deputies raised $330,900,000 through the auction of 42 of the 46 official cars of the body. The remaining 4 will be auctioned again on May 10, because we received unsatisfactory offers. This action allows the HCDN to free itself from use and maintenance expenses, which amounted to $180 million annually,” Menen explained in a post on the social network X.

The Toyota Hiace Wagon used by the former Minister of Economy is a 2021 model (it has 61,600 kilometers traveled) and was auctioned off $28 millionbarely two million more than the initial base and far from the projected 40 million.

It is important to note that once the bidding is over, the seller (in this case the Chamber of Deputies of the Nation) has the power to approve or reject the final auction offer.

On this occasion the base price set is $33 million and those who wish to participate must pay a bid guarantee of $3.3 million. The certification will be online through Banco Ciudad’s digital auction platform.

The model has capacity for 10 occupants, electric sliding side doors and leather upholstery.

The other three vehicles from the Deputies’ fleet that will enter the new Banco Ciudad auction are a Volkswagen Vento 2.5, 2010 model ($4 million base price), a Peugeot 408 Allure, year 2014 ($5 million base price) and a Volkswagen Passat (2012) in poor condition, whose initial price starts at $1 million.

Features of Massa’s minivan

The configuration of the Toyota Hiace Wagon that Sergio Massa used for almost three years includes capacity for 10 occupants with seats with armrests and the possibility of reclining the seats. Some of them have electric regulation and footrest. All the upholstery is leather and its large side and sliding doors are electrically operated.

Each row of seats (3-2-2-3 layout) has its corresponding air conditioning outlets and the rear seats have a total of 6 USB ports to connect devices. It comes equipped with a 2.8-liter, 163-horsepower turbodiesel engine, which is linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Toyota began assembling this model in its Zárate plant but not this Wagon version, which arrives imported from Japan. Although it appears on the Japanese brand’s website, its current price is not listed. The latest reference is $74,900.
