Nery Lopreto, a resident of Lynn, Massachusetts, first bought a new car for himself and his family a year ago.

“What I was looking for is a car, a CRV, hybrid, sporty,” said Lopreto.

So he bought a 2023 Honda CRV pickup truck at the Kelly Honda dealership in Lynn, but within months he says the car started having problems.

Approximately around January of this year, 2024. That’s when it started to break down, all the lights started to come on… like the engine was necessarily making an ugly noise. And the brakes seem to stop themselves,” said Lopreto.

When Nery took the car to the dealer’s workshop in Lynn, he tells us that, “When I got to Honda they told me, we can’t receive the car because it doesn’t have an appointment… So I called, but they told me oh, no. We have an appointment nearby because we don’t have many mechanics.”

Nery managed to schedule an appointment at the Honda branch in Everett, Massachusetts where he says they did not resolve the problem.

“That day I arrived with the break lights on. And then he tells me; Oh, yes, this is what the car has, it has sensors on the front that are activated,” said Lopreto.

And so they sent it away, but Nery explains that the vehicle continued to decelerate on the highway, without prior warning, at less than 17 miles per hour and from there he was unable to accelerate it for long periods of time. Concerned for his safety and that of his family, he returned to the Honda dealership in Lynn where he purchased the vehicle, on two more occasions, but he says that they did not resolve the faults, so he decided to call Telemundo New England Reply.

We contacted the Kelly Honda dealership in Lynn and although they never responded directly to us, they contacted Nery in reference to our email and offered to buy the car back from him in exchange for selling him another new 2024 model at the same price as his vehicle. 2023.

“I’m fine with the car now and if it’s fine, I feel happy with my family… and thank you for, for, for helping me and I hope you continue to help other people who need it too because it is very, very important for us as Hispanics,” Lopreto said.

We requested a statement from the Kelly Honda dealership in Lynn, but they offered no comment beyond resolving the issue.
