Following the university campaign “Gum Health Week”, which aims to educate the population about oral care, the dentist and president of the Periodontology Society of Chile, Elizabeth Lozano, He gave some tips to maintain oral health in good condition.

In conversation with A New Morning in Cooperativethe periodontist explained that beyond choosing a specific toothpaste for each case, “The most important thing is how you brush your teeth” and that the brush is dry when brushing your teeth because “wetting it beforehand is like wetting a broom before sweeping: it doesn’t clean well.”therefore, to achieve an effective result, he recommended the following actions:

Make sure the brush is soft, dry, and use toothpaste.

Use a simple brushwhich has a straight handle and does not have a large head, so that it can reach all areas of the mouth.

Brushing should go from the gum to the toothsweep from top to bottom, and do not try to make horizontal movements, because they cause the gums to stretch and change places in the mouth.

Dental floss should preferably be used before brushing. to remove the dirt between the teeth and then remove it with the brush.

• Brush when you wake up to eliminate the bacterial plaque that formed at night and also do it after each meal, where the essential brushing will be at night, before going to sleep.

Finally, the dentist called on people to visit the Instagram @cuidomisencias, where content and advice for effective oral health care is published.
