Renault begins to export the Kangoo manufactured in Córdoba to Brazil

The automotive company Renault Argentina announces that it has begun to export Kangoo units, in its 1.6 SCe Flex version, to Brazil.

The first units manufactured at the Santa Isabel plant, in the city of Córdoba, will begin to arrive this month in the neighboring country, according to the company.

With more than 25 years of production in the country, the Kangoo was presented in Argentina at the end of 1998 and began production at the Santa Isabel factory, the first plant that manufactured this model outside of France.

Throughout this history, the model remains the segment leader in its van and passenger variants for more than two consecutive decades. The vehicle revolutionized the compact utility market in Argentina with its design and practicality, including the unique sliding side door in its segment.

With more than 470 thousand units produced at Fábrica Santa Isabel, today this model has become an icon of the Argentine market, so much so that its name has become a denominator of its segment.

In the Argentine market, its van and passenger versions have been a true success: uninterrupted leader for 24 years, with peak shares of more than 55% in the compact van segment and more than 65% in the passenger segment.

The arrival in Brazil adds to the presence that the model manufactured in Córdoba already had in Colombia, Mexico and Uruguay, as destinations in Latin America.

In July of last year, the automaker began exporting the Kangoo model to Algeria, which became the first foreign trade destination for the vehicle manufactured in the province outside of Latin America.

With operations in the African country, the company’s objective was to achieve a final Kangoo export volume of between eight thousand and 10 thousand units, and initially achieve a volume of two thousand vehicles destined for Algeria.

In 2023, the company’s projection was to export 33% of Kangoo’s production.

Looking ahead to 2026, the company’s goal is to export 20 thousand units of the model.
