1,800 jobs will be generated by the largest shopping center on the Coast, in Cartagena

The Azul de Arenas macroproject, which is being developed in the North Zone of Cartagena and whose housing component is already underway in Baía Cristal, launched yesterday what will be the largest shopping center on the Colombian Caribbean Coast: Kristal Malls Cartagena Shopping Resort. The new commercial development will be in an area of ​​206 hectares, at the intersection of Vía del Mar (in front of Barcelona de Indias) and Route 90, with 120 thousand m² of commercial areas and 200 stores, among which more are already confirmed. of 35 brands and anchor stores like Éxito, revealed Andrés Arango Sarmiento, manager of Urbanum SAS, partner of the project.

Baía Kristal is the first housing development in the Azul de Arena macroproject, in the North Zone of Cartagena. It will have 1,500 housing units. // HFA-EU.

Its development will be around an artificial lagoon where there will be gastronomy (44 establishments), entertainment (1,500 m²), culture (a theater for events in the lagoon), sports, health, hospitality (184-room hotel and convention center with capacity for 1,000 people), leisure, offices, gyms and shopping.

The start of this commercial development will be at the beginning of 2025 and its delivery in 2027.

It will generate 1,200 jobs in its construction stage and more than 600 in operation.

The first stage of this project, whose break-even point would occur at the end of this year, will include 46,000 m² of profitable or salable area and will require investments of 850 billion pesos and the entire project can reach $1.7 billion.

In the Azul de Arenas macroproject, its developers have a projection of 11 thousand housing units for the next 15 or 20 years, belonging to 19 projects and one of them already underway is Baía Cristal, with 1,500 apartments in the first stage that is practically sold. The second stage begins at the end of the year. This is a project that was planned to be sold in 7 years and was sold in 2 years, where the lagoons under the Crystal Lagoons concept are a great attraction. In Colombia these are the first gaps with this technology; while there are 64 worldwide, says Juan Pablo García, CEO of aed Constructores, one of the partners of the macroproject.

This project leads the list of the best sellers in the country, with an average of more than 80 units sold per month.

He added that almost 50% of the project was sold outside the country, mostly Colombians residing abroad.
