Allianz GI makes changes at the head of its fixed income team. The manager has announced the appointment of Michael Krautzberger as the new Global Fixed Income CIO, replacing Franck Dixmier, who will leave AllianzGI to undertake new projects after almost 30 years of dedication to the firm and its clients. Krautzberger will join in August 2024.
Michael Krautzberger joins Allianz Global Investors from BlackRock, where he worked for 19 years, and where he held the position of Head of Fundamental Fixed Income for EMEA since 2018. Previously, he served as Chief Investment Officer and member of the executive board of BlackRock Asset Management Deutschland AG. Before joining Merrill Lynch Investment Managers in 2005 (merged with BlackRock in 2006), Krautzberger was head of European Fixed Income at Union Investment, and previously spent five years at DWS.
As the manager explains, Krautzberger will succeed Franck Dixmier, who has been part of Allianz Global Investors since 1996. Dixmier was named AllianzGI’s first Global Head of Fixed Income in 2015 and first Global Fixed Income CIO in 2020, after creating a global investment committee and a unified process for the asset class.

As Global Fixed Income CIO, Krautzberger will report to Deborah Zurkow and serve on the Allianz GI Investment Executive Committee., as well as its International Management Group. He will also oversee the management of €171 billion of fixed income assets on behalf of clients around the world.
