German automaker Volkswagen is preparing the first restyling for its coupe-style SUV, the Nivus, manufactured in Brazil and marketed in Argentina and other countries in the region.
Although there has not yet been an official announcement confirming the renewal of the vehicle, months ago they began to be seen camouflaged test units in the streets of the neighboring country and, recently, also in Argentina. On the other hand, the Brazilian media Auto Esporte published projections -generated with the computer- anticipating the look of the new generation of Nivus.
In the images you can see some aesthetic novelties on the front and, based on what was shared in Brazilian media specialized in the sector, it is also very possible to expect changes behind closed doors.
Among the expected changes is, on the one hand, the grillwhich would lose its current format to adopt a more rectangular design – already seen in models such as the Volkswagen Virtus – and, on the other, the bumper, which will have a larger bottom opening and vertical moldings at its ends.
It is also expected that, in some of the versions, the Nivus will have new tires alloys and modifications for optics later.
As for the mechanics, nothing was confirmed, but in the media of the neighboring country there is speculation about the incorporation of the turbocharger. 1.4 TSI with 150 HP and 250 Nm for a possible sports version. This engine is already used in some models in Brazil (the T-Cross, for example) and in the top-of-the-range Virtus (Exclusive), launched in Argentina at the end of 2023. It would be associated with a six-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of dates, according to the Brazilian media, the restyling of the Nivus It will be presented between September and October of this year, although it has not yet been confirmed. Taking this date as a reference, it could be expected that its arrival in Argentina will occur sometime in the first quarter of 2025.
