The automotive company Renault presented the 100% electric Kangoo E-Tech, its third model powered by this technology in the country.

After presenting the Kangoo ZE in 2018, which promoted the evolution of the 100% E-Tech network and was key in the construction of the after-sales strategy for electric vehicles, as highlighted, the automotive company with the rhombus took a new step with the arrival of the 100% electric Kangoo E-Tech.

The 100% electric Kangoo E-Tech represents a significant advance in the electric commercial vehicle segment, Renault said. With improved range, greater payload capacity and advanced safety features, it is designed to be an efficient and reliable tool, especially for urban logistics and last mile operations, the automaker added.

The launch price of the 100% electric Kangoo E-Tech is $48,124,000 corresponding for this month.

With more than 4.4 million units produced in 50 countries around the world, Kangoo is the best-selling vehicle in the segment in the electric version since 2011. In Argentina, it was the pioneer of the electric commercial vehicle segment and leader with more of 110 units sold.

The new 100% electric Kangoo E-Tech comes equipped with a 90 kW (120 hp) motor and 245 Nm of instant torque. Thanks to its new 45 kWh lithium-ion battery, made up of eight independent modules, it has a range of 300 km as established by WLTP. The battery has a liquid cooling system and electrical resistance allowing it to be used in the appropriate temperature zone, thus maintaining its autonomy and reducing charging time. The batteries have a warranty of eight years or 160,000 km.

Compared with the previous generation, The battery has a greater capacity (33 kWh vs 45 kWh), liquid cooling, which extended the autonomy and also allowed an increase in the warranty, from five to eight years.

The model offers a cargo space of 4.3 m³. Its maximum payload is 800 kg and towing capacity is 1,500 kg. Its extra-large sliding side door (864 mm) allows the accommodation of large objects and easy loading and unloading in urban centers, and its storage space has generous dimensions, 2.2 meters long, 1.5 meters wide and 1 .3 meter high. The cargo area has 1/3 – 2/3 rear doors that can open from 90° to 180°, facilitating access even when there is little space behind the vehicle, the brand reported.

In terms of safety equipment, it has four airbags, traction and stability controls (ESP) and hill start assist (HSA). In addition, the battery is housed in a high-strength structure and has a high-voltage system disconnection plug and rapid fire extinguishing device on the battery.

As for its interior equipment, it offers the Easy Link multimedia system, which includes an 8-inch touch screen, compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay; central lock; rear parking camera; rear parking sensors (4 sensors); power rearview mirrors with turn repeaters; tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS); double lighting in the cargo area and fixing hooks on the sides and floor of the cargo area.
