Mª Luisa Martínez Gistau, until now vice president of Corporate Excellence – Center for Reputation Leadership, assumes the leadership of the Board of Trustees, replacing Eduardo Navarro, who has served as president on behalf of Telefónica for the last 4 years.

Upon assuming the presidency, Martínez Gistau thanked the Board of Trustees for their trust and support and highlighted the work of the Foundation, “an organization that is already essential when it comes to establishing solid indicators to measure and evaluate intangibles through a multistakeholder and multidimensional perspective in making corporate strategic decisions.”

The new president of Corporate Excellence – Center for Reputation Leadership has highlighted the commitment of the Board of Trustees that she leads “continue betting on the integration of intangible assets in the strategic decisions of organizations.” Only companies and professionals that understand the importance of managing their intangibles will be able to operate in a context of increasingly turbulent, complex and less controllable change,” has added.

For this, explains Mª Luisa Martínez Gistau, “it is necessary to continue promoting training – an essential axis of the work of Corporate Excellence – in management of intangibles and analysis of the environment to obtain a deep and transversal understanding of the context, which allows contributing to the progress of the respective companies.”

In turn, the Board of Trustees has unanimously appointed Jordi García Tabernero, general director of Public Affairs and Sustainability of Naturgy, as vice president of the Foundation.

The change of mandate responds to the natural term for the replacement of Presidency and Vice Presidency positions established by the founding statutes of Corporate Excellence – Center for Reputation Leadership. Under the mandate of Eduardo Navarro, who became president of the Foundation in a complex context with the outbreak of COVID-19, the Foundation has continued to grow and consolidate its role as a reference institution in reputation management, communication and the intangibles.

In this sense, the Board of Trustees has expressed its “Thank you to Eduardo for the great work carried out in these years of profound changes, dynamic, highly competitive environments and great risks and challenges for business management. Eduardo’s leadership has been decisive in positioning the Foundation as an ecosystem of innovation and collaboration unique in its category and in highlighting the contribution and role of large companies as agents of change, transformation and social progress.“.

Along with the Presidency and the Vice Presidency, the continuity of the rest of the members of the Board of Trustees has been confirmed. In this way, the Board of Trustees of the Foundation has been constituted by the following participants: Paul Tobin, Global Head of Communications, representing BBVA; Ignacio Jiménez Soler, Director of Communication, representing Endesa; Roberto Fernández Albendea, director of ESG, representing Iberdrola; Juan Manuel Cendoya, Vice President of Santander Spain and General Director of Communication, Corporate Marketing and Research Services, representing Banco Santander.

For his part, Ángel Alloza, CEO and general secretary of the Corporate Excellence Foundation since its constitution, will continue with his current functions.
