This unstoppable growth in sales of the EX30 could be slowed, however, by the imposition in Europe of new tariffs on the import of electric vehicles from China that will come into force this coming July. In fact, Volvo executive vice president Bjorn Annwall has already criticized this decision, arguing that it will only harm consumers.
Volvo had already planned, however, to begin production of the EX30 in the European Union in 2025, and more specifically in Belgium, but until that happens the units sold in this market will have to continue arriving from China paying a higher tariff.
