With their eyes fixed on the sky, not even the bad weather has prevented Sevillians from taking to the streets to celebrate the long-awaited Holy Thursday. Dozens of faithful gathered at the doors of the churches throughout the city, eager to see the steps up close, already decked out to go out to process in case the rain allows it. That has been Fran Rivera’s plan (50 years) and Lourdes Montes (40 years).
“And they call her Hope because she is what is never lost”, wrote the designer on her Instagram profile along with a snapshot of La Esperanza de Triana inside the temple with the hope that tonight both the Virgin and the Christ will go out in procession in the iconic ‘Madrugá’. “What a shame… we are going to wait for the miracle to happen. A whole year, so much enthusiasm, all the work… We can’t do anything,” Fran Rivera lamented to the journalists gathered there. Despite this, the couple has met with her family and her closest friends, yes, without forgetting the umbrella that has accompanied them throughout the day.
Although the rain has clouded the display of elegance and sobriety typical of Holy Week, Lourdes Montes has “competed” in style with Tana Rivera (24 years). Both have met again in the street, revealing the style they have chosen for this Holy Thursday.

The trench coat has become the star garment of the style of Lourdes Montes and her husband Francisco Rivera. The designer, always elegant, opted for a simple total black composed of wide pants and a double-breasted blazer with double buttons under which a simple white shirt stood out. A monochrome mix that stylized her figure wonderfully and contrasted with the grayish color of her trench coat. A long design with an oversized cut and original lapels full of buttons.
Lourdes, who wore her hair down completely naturally, closed her Holy Thursday look with comfortable high-heeled ankle boots with a pointed finish, and as a bag a medium-sized all-terrain crossbody model, also in black.
The sobriety of Tana Rivera with a total black look
Much more classic has been the choice of Tana Rivera. The daughter of Fran Rivera and Eugenia Martínez de Irujo has not missed this family event. Accompanied by her boyfriend, Manuel Vega, and keeping an eye on her brothers Carmen and Curro, for whom she feels absolute devotion, the young woman revealed an outfit that is no less elegant because it is simple.
Tana, with a serious face, has turned to black in all its splendor. A style starring an oversized wool coat with large pockets that hid a two-piece, also black, composed of wide-leg tailored pants and a matching jacket.
Tana’s outfit was decorated by the medal of the Brotherhood of Hope of Triana and she concluded it with pointed ankle boots and a huge bag that was placed as a shoulder bag for greater comfort. Next to her are the little ones of the house, Carmen, nine years old, with a flirty gray dress and wellies, and little Curro, five years old, like a gentleman in a jacket, sweater and shorts.
Despite the gray day in the Andalusian capital, that has not stopped Francisco Rivera from bringing together the most important people in his life on what is one of the most important days for him.
