A message thread on X (formerly Twitter) has shed light on the possible reason behind this decision, revealing a legal complication involving his former manager, Sandra Sherezada Roldan.
According to the thread, Sandra would have deceived Danna Paola, making her sign a document by which the artist agreed to deliver 30% of the profits generated under the name “Danna Paola” to her former manager. This situation would have led the singer’s record company to advise changing her name to “Danna” to avoid these financial obligations.
Roldán would have put pressure on Danna to sign agreements that committed a percentage of the artist’s income under her full name, Danna Paola, leading to a protracted legal battle that also involves the record label Universal Music.
