The García Obregón are in luck. Javier, the godson of Ana Obregón, son of her brother Javier and the model Paloma Lago, has said “I do” to his girlfriend, the psychologist Eugenia Gil Muñoz. “The best thing is to have been able to experience this reunion of all,” said Juancho García-Obregón, another of the groom’s uncles upon his arrival at the San Fermín de los Navarros church, in Madrid. The wedding ceremony was held there on May 1, which began almost an hour late. Her girlfriend, who wanted to get dressed in the company of her four best friends, with whom she had a brunch just before the wedding, arrived three-quarters of an hour late. “Good things take time,” said the groom, who waited for his future wife at the altar with his mother, the model Paloma Lago.
The bride was made to wait
Paloma and the groom arrived at the church together, in a spectacular convertible Aston Martin. The bride’s delay forced moments of the ceremony to be altered. Some reading and some songs were eliminated. But her entry into the temple was, without a doubt, one of the most talked about moments. The bride entered arm in arm with her mother, who acted as proud godmother while she accompanied her daughter to the altar to the soundtrack of ‘La vita è bella’.
The bride’s delay did not change one of the parts of the ceremony that the couple had prepared with the most affection: the tribute to family members who are no longer here. They remembered the groom’s grandparents, the bride’s grandmother and especially Aless Lequio, Javier’s cousin, to whom the groom had always been very close.
