Like every year, the Spanish Royal House makes public
the gift list that it has received during the previous financial year, in this case 2023. There are no less than 301 presents that appear inventoried on its website, in accordance with the Regulations on gifts in favor of the Royal Family, which was launched at the wish of the king Felipe VI in 2015 after his arrival to the Throne.
The aforementioned list is very exhaustive in such a way that each of those present appears categorized with the name of the
family member who received it, the date and place where it was received, the person or institution from which it came and a short description of it. Of all of them, we are going to highlight the most significant, among them those of King Abdullah of Jordan and the still reigning Margaret of Denmark at that time.
There are 13 pages in which such a detailed list appears and first of all we can see that the person who has received the most gifts has been
King Felipe VI, with 150 (it makes sense, he is the Head of State and has a more extensive agenda), then we find Queen Letizia with 72. The Princess of Asturias received 14 and Infanta Leonor 8. Some of them, by the way, were shared . The destination of all of them is National Heritage.
Of King Felipe VI’s gifts, some very curious ones stand out, such as an ONCE coupon, a chef’s jacket, various guayaberas, a pocketknife, a cashmere jacket, a censer and numerous books, among others.

The most symbolic gifts from different monarchies
Some of the gifts that Queen Letizia received symbolically serve to underline the ties of friendship between countries. We are talking about three exclusive coats, one for the queen and the other two for her daughters, Leonor and Sofía, which
They came from the hands of King Abdullah II of Jordan. The Jordanian monarch offered it to him in gratitude for the act that the Spanish kings offered in his honor last December.
On a previous visit last June, Rania from Jordan’s husband also presented some particularly meaningful gifts. For King Felipe VI a wooden box with moving sand and for the queen a wooden jewelry box. They were not the only gifts they received from monarchies, so we have to remember

We have to go back to November and the state visit to Denmark, which was punctuated by the appearance in Readings of some photographs of the then crown prince, Frederick of Denmark and Genoveva Casanova in Madrid. At that delicate moment, not for the good health of the relationship between our countries, but for the public image of the now Danish monarch Felipe and Letizia received a tray and cutlery for two diners and
framed photos of the queen and princes Federico and Mary.

More gifts for Letizia: the musical instruments she received during her state visit with Felipe VI to Angola, the placemats that Ukrainian President Zelensky gave her when she visited Granada last October, the handkerchief that the director of the Institute gave her. Cervantes, or the sets of earrings and barrettes of the mayor of Córdoba. Of course, as a great reader that she is, the queen received numerous books.
