Andrea Casiraghi opens decade. The eldest son of the Princess of Hannover and Stefano Casiraghi turns 40 this June 8, very far from the rebellion that characterized his youth. Become a father of a family and happy next to Tatiana Santo Domingo, Andrea Casiraghi is settled in Switzerland, after having spent several years in London. A symbolic move for the couple, given that it was there where their religious wedding was held in February 2014, in Gstaad, a few months after the civil wedding in Monaco.

Completely away from the spotlight, Andrea Casiraghi enjoys a quiet and relaxed life at his residence in the Swiss town of Saanen, located very close to the Gstaad station, and only participates in some specific events in the Principality, such as National Day, the Rose Dance or the F1 Grand Prix, given that the world of motorsport has always been one of his great passions. The eldest son of the Princess Caroline of Monaco He could have been the heir to the throne of the small country, if his uncle, Albert of Monaco, had not married, nor had he had children within the marriage, but fate had other plans for him.

Although he now lives relaxed with his wife, Andrea Casiraghi’s life has not always been as simple as it may seem. His childhood was marked by the tragic death of his father in a boating accident when he was barely six years old. A hard blow for the entire family, especially for his mother and for him, who was already beginning to be aware of what was happening around him. In fact, according to his maternal grandmother, Andrea used to dress in his father’s clothes, because they kept his smell. The Princess of Hanover decided to retire for a few years to Provence, to get away from the spotlight and grieve privately with their children. They were quiet years for the family.

The metamorphosis of Andrea Casiraghi

For many years, Andrea Casiraghi He was, like his mother or his sister Carlota, a constant protagonist of the gossip press. Andrea Casiraghi was one of the golden bachelors on the royal scene until Tatiana Santo Domingo came into his life and made him settle down. The nephew put aside the nights of partying, the getaways to Ibiza and the continuous rumors of romances, which led Princess Carolina’s first-born son to occupy the cover of headlines in different parts of the world.

With the arrival of Tatiana, Andrea Casiraghi’s life took a radical turn. Party nights turned into family evenings and the media spotlight gave way to a discreet routine away from the media.

It was in 2004 when, thanks to his sister, Carlota Casiraghi, he met Tatiana Santo Domingo. After several years of a solid relationship, in 2012, Princess Caroline of Monaco announced her marriage and, shortly after, it came to light that Tatiana was expecting her first child. Sacha was born on March 21, 2013 at the Portland Hospital in London and as Tatiana and Andrea had not yet married, he was not included in the Monegasque line of succession at that time. A situation that changed that same summer, when the couple contracted a civil marriage in the Throne Room of the Grimaldi Palace.

In February 2014, the religious wedding took place at Gstaad station. A wedding with snow as the main protagonist, in which Tatiana dazzled with a tiara lent by the Princess Caroline of Monaco and a Valentino dress. A year later, her daughter India would be born and, in 2018, his third child, Maximilian Rainier, who was born in Monaco, came into the world.

Although the couple spent several years in London, in Switzerland they have found the perfect place to enjoy the tranquility and discretion that the Grimaldis like so much for their private life. A privileged environment -only available to a few-, where Tatiana and Andrea can relax with their children and enjoy nature and sports.
