Roger Daltrey, lead singer of The Whohas discovered a current that has placed itself among the great artists and he does not like it one bit.

In a new chat with Billboard (via Ultimate Classic Rock), he emblematic artist has stated that he cannot stand musicians sharing their repertoires publicly on the Internetsomething that, in any case, can already be consulted in setlist.fm.

Too many people reveal songs“Daltrey declared.”Nowadays there are no surprises at concerts, because everyone wants to see the set list.”

If fans search the Internet for an artist’s set list, they will go to the concert with preconceived expectations about what they are going to hear, Daltrey believes.

I’m fucking fed up“, reaffirmed The Who. “The Internet has ruined my concerts. Who wants to know what’s going to happen next? People forget about surprises. I can not stand”.

But of course, there are people who plan the concert around the repertoire to know, for example, when to go to the bathroom in advance. Daltrey says one thing to them: “Why don’t you start listening to the fucking concert in the bathroom then?”?”

His solo tour is approaching

What is going to happen, with fans in the bathroom or out of it, will be Daltrey’s solo tour throughout North America, something he doesn’t feel like talking too much about: “I’d like to keep it a secret. Nowadays there is too much information about people’s concerts. I mean, with all the clips on YouTube and all that. What surprises remain? Now it’s hard to surprise the public, isn’t it? I find it very, very sad. Mysticism was beneficial to the world of entertainment. Now we even know the color of people’s underwear. It’s fucking boring.”

When asked, on the other hand, about the musical legacy he will leave, Daltrey also remains a bit closed on the matter, although he admits he is happy: “I don’t think about it. This is my job, in which I have been lucky to succeed, and how lucky I have been. What a fantastic life. I have always been a worker. I worked in a factory for five years. I do other work apart from The Who. I have a farm. I do a lot of work for Teen Cancer America and the Teenage Cancer Trust in the UK. That motivates me as much as The Who. So there is always something to do. I have always, in one way or another, landed on my feet. I ‘ve been very lucky. I appreciate it”.
