Sir Iam McKellen, the multi-award-winning actor who played Gandalf, Magneto and many other characters on the big screen, was rushed to hospital after he suffered a terrible fall while giving a theater performance in London.
The 85-year-old actor fell while performing John Falstaff in “Player Kings”in an adaptation of two works by William Shakespeare when suddenly he fell and only the cry of anguish was heard from the winner of the Oscar.

After the alarming accidentthe spokesperson for the play’s production said that McKellen was in good spirits after being checked by the medical staff, who told him that he was expected to make a full recovery.
For his part, the actor shared a message to his fans on X regarding your accident”I want to thank everyone for their kind messages and support.. Since the accident, which occurred last night during a performance of Player Kings, my injuries have been diagnosed and treated by a range of experts, specialists and nurses working for the National Health Service. To them, of course, I am enormously indebted. They have assured me that my recovery will be complete and rapid, and I’m looking forward to getting back to work.” he concluded
As it was expected, the accident caused the presentation to be stopped and was canceled within a few minutes to give paramedics the opportunity to take the legendary actor to receive appropriate emergency care.
BBC journalists who happened to be watching the play recounted how the actor fell. They mentioned that McKellen misstepped and fell on the audience side while on stage with Samuel Edward-Cook.

A person named Paul Critchley was in the theater when it happened and recounted how the fall occurred: “Sir Ian seemed to stumble as he was going down to the stage to take a more active part in the scene and gained momentum as he went down to the stage, which caused caused him to fall off the stage right in front of the audience“.
There is still no answer as to when the play will be postponed or when McKellen will be able to return to the stage, however, the fact that it is reported that the actor is in good spirits and is better reassures many of his followers who already know him. They want to see him again doing what he likes most: acting.
