For years, Cuban host Jorge Bernal demonstrated his talent and professionalism in various programs on the Telemundo network, such as “Al Rojo Vivo.” However, one day the channel decided to no longer depend on his services, firing him, an action that during an interview with Rodner Figueroa, he said he did not expect.
Although at the time there was talk that Jorge was fired from the network, due to the poor audience numbers that the gossip program “Suelta la sopa” showed, in the conversation he broke the silence and confessed what really happened.
I didn’t expect to be fired
Bernal first stated that it was in 2000 that he began working with the Hispanic network, and that it was 23 years that he dedicated time, passion and respect to it, so the news took him by surprise. Furthermore, he claims that an executive called him to meet on the human resources floor, telling him that they did not have a place to put him inside the plant.
In this sense, he stated that although they suggested that he continue working on special awards, they did not give him the opportunity to do other work during his free time.
“I told them that I couldn’t be adrift for months, until you decide to call me and if you don’t call me, what? Then no. They call the man from human resources, I take my phone and put on the Boyz II Men song “It is so hard to say goodbye. Then he signed the whole resignation thing,” he indicated in the conversation.
Likewise, he said that although it was difficult, he did not start crying or complaining, he assures that he signed all the documents calmly and told one of the producers that I would really miss contact with people.

However, not everything was negative, Bernal highlights that her time at the network was a lot of learning, especially when working with the journalist María Celeste Arraráswho was the one who contacted him to start working with her on “Al Rojo Vivo”.
In addition, he pointed out that the people in makeup, surveillance, producers, editors and human resources will always be in his heart. Today, the Cuban is part of the Univision network, presenting the entertainment show “Siéntese qué puede”, along with the Venezuelan Carolina Sandoval and other entertainers.
