For 4 days the Quillota Petorca Biprovincial Hospital became a national and international reference in Intensive Medicine by bringing together more than 200 clinical professionals from the area in its now traditional Intensive Medicine Conferences, which in this fifth version took place between April 24 and 27 at the same healthcare facility.

This type of academic and training events positions the base campus of the provinces of Quillota and Petorca as the spearhead in the matter at a national level, transforming these Conferences into an activity expected by specialists in the area and clinical professionals related to the practice of Intensive Medicine.

This results in an effective positioning of the Biprovincial Hospital, which was highlighted by the Director of the institution, Haroldo Faúndez Romero, who expressed the importance of these events for the healthcare facility. “Our Hospital is increasingly opening new services, new benefits, new equipment, with new infrastructure, all of this for the benefit of our users in the provinces of Quillota and Petorca. However, this must be accompanied by people’s learning processes, by knowledge management, to improve; and these Conferences are part of that vision of advancing, in addition to infrastructure, in technology, but also in training of our teams”, pointed out the Director.

It should be noted that the event, organized by the Critical Patient Unit of the Biprovincial Hospital in conjunction with the Lucas Sierra Foundation, began last Wednesday the 24th with practical workshops for professionals in areas such as airways, fiberoptic bronchoscopy, intensive care echocardiography. , vascular access, transpulmonary pressure and renal replacement therapy.

Meanwhile, the official opening of these Fifth Conferences on Intensive Medicine took place on the morning of Thursday the 25th, with the participation of the first of the nearly 40 speakers of this activity that is sponsored by the Chilean Society of Intensive Medicine.
