Next, the author of the ‘sartenazos’ detailed how he went through those hours of suffering: “Those days and the following were terrible. The muscle and joint pain I went through was the worst I had in my life. Only those who have been through it know that the pain does not allow you to move and that all you want is to be in bed even if everything continues. Days and nights with fever. Neither the blankets nor the heat packs were able to stop the cold. Sweating and changes of clothing. But the pain continued. Getting up to brush my teeth was an odyssey. Impossible to stand up completely. On Monday I went back to Medicus. New analysis. And on Tuesday, the confirmation: Positive Dengue.”

Having confirmed his health condition, the journalist decided to face it in the best possible way, despite the difficulties. “Muscles and joints stiffen or atrophy. There is no position in bed that feels best. The shoulder blades, the arms, the legs hurt. You feel a physical exhaustion that at some point fatigue overcomes you and you fall asleep. Your head ‘wants to give orders’ like drinking a sip of water, but the pain and discomfort are so superior that all you can do is turn your body looking for another position in bed. You don’t have an appetite. You reject water and are not interested in looking at your cell phone. However, the doctor ordered me: “You have to eat to take the Paracetamol and drink plenty of water,” his story continued.

These days I heard stories of people with fever for seven days. Patients with Rush or redness all over the body. “Patients who have vomiting, breakdowns and all kinds of discomfort.”

Finally, the communicator closed his publication by thanking his loved ones, who became his pillar during the hospitalization: “I want to thank my family who cares for me and supports me. To the doctors, extractionists, Medicus receptionists. To my friends and colleagues from Que Mañana! And Relentless! From Channel 9. And to my colleagues from Behind the Scenes at Radio República.”
