The anesthesiologist Elena Casado has published a video on his TikTok account (@medicilio) in which he teaches what the true price of a migraine medication is without being financed by the Social Security.
In the video, the tiktoker begins by explaining that they have changed the treatment for the migraine she suffers from, since the one she was taking until now was causing an allergic reaction and, immediately afterwards, she proceeds to show the recipe for the new medication, in the one that can be seen the ordinary price, without public financing.
The surprise comes when the anesthesiologist shows that each syringe of medication it costs 200 euros and, in addition, he has explained that this treatment requires having one dose a month.
“200 euros of medication that in-hospital are collected. I think that all of us who have chronic in-hospital medication at this type of price know how lucky we are to have public healthcare that finances this type of treatment,” the doctor stated.
Furthermore, he has clarified that, although spending 200 euros a month for a lifetime on medicine seems “An atrocity”this is not one of the most expensive drugs financed by public health, since it has ensured that there are medications that are worth 1,000, 2,000 and 3,000 euros that are covered.
“There is no private insurance that covers this type of medication”recalled the content creator, who has invited users of the social network to become aware of how lucky Spaniards are to have public healthcare.
“I think that we are not aware, at least the majority of people, of how lucky we are with public health in this country,” said the anesthesiologist, who also warned that “they are trying to kill her”.
Finally, he concluded the video by leaving some advice to his followers in favor of defending public health: “Start thinking about going out and burning things in the street, because we are risking our lives on it“.
