The spanish royal house has published the breakdown of its expenses in 2023. As every year, the institution has published the data sent to the General Intervention of the State Administration (IGAE), which details what each euro of the funds has been spent on. 8.4 million coming from the General State Budgets that the Crown received in the last year.

This breakdown also allows you to know how much the events organized by Casa Real cost, how much money is allocated to the awarding of contracts or the salaries of staff, for example. Thus, the cost of the lunch for Leonor’s birthday and other receptions at the Royal Palace presided over by Felipe VI and Letizia.

The largest budget item was allocated to personal expenses, with 4.7 million euros, which represented 56.2 percent of the total. This concept included the annual remuneration received by Felipe VI (269,296 euros), Queen Letizia (148,105 euros) and Queen Sofía (121,186 euros), already detailed by the King’s House in February of last year.

Regarding the number of contracts awarded, the Royal House signed 18 through the general procedure and 13 minor contracts. The largest contract was 688,130.3 euros for the acquisition and updating of computer products.

Since 2021, the Head of State receives the same amount from the General State Budgets, which amounts to 8.43 million euros. In the current year, that figure is maintained due to the extension of public accounts.

The 2023 budget added a credit supplement of 579,000 euros financed from the budget surplus fund. At the end of the year, the King’s House made payments of 7.72 million euros, so it did not complete the total available budget, leaving 710,214 euros unspent.
