This year, the MET Gala presents the theme “Sleeping beauties: the awakening of fashion”inspiration that will be present in the museum’s decoration and in the guests’ clothing.

In the case of Mexico, the chosen designer was Carlos Pinedaa young talent who has stood out with his creativity in the field of fashion and is beginning to “make noise” internationally, like when he dressed the singer Camila Cabello for presentation at the opening ceremony of the 2022 Champions League.

On this occasion, the Mexican created a colorful and vaporous outfit, at the height of the famous MET Gala.

“We made a very beautiful piece, full of details and with more ruffles than ever. I used organza which, by the way, I had never used before. The designer shared that he was inspired by sea plants to create the outfit that can be appreciated by the international audience of AND! Entertainment.

“We found this amazing organza with three different flower prints, but I wanted to steer it towards something like foliage or marine nature. I think it evokes a coral or these sea plants that move with the water,” he shared.

Originally from Colima, Colima, Carlos Pineda studied at the Fashion Design Center in Guadalajara, Jalisco, where he cemented his knowledge with masters of fashion and clothing.

One of her first jobs was in a modeling agency, coordinating campaigns and fashion shows, and in 2017 she presented her first collection at Intermoda – the largest fashion business exhibition in Latin America -, where she attracted attention for her fresh and colorful style.
