Performer and composer, Silvia was born on March 19, 1958 into a family from Catamarca that lived at that time in the province of Jujuy. But when she was little she grew up in the town of Collagasta (Fray Mamerto Esquiú-Catamarca), that’s why she felt like she was from Catamarca all her life and she sings to the province wherever she wants her to be.
Whether in a luxurious restaurant in Africa, on the stage in Cosquín or at a show in Madrid, Silvia was synonymous with Catamarca and its music.
Once she settled in this province, she went on stage for the first time when she was seven years old, in the program El Mundo Encantado de Los Ninos, hosted by Iris Agüero.
His talent was notable and on November 17, 1969 he won the representation of Catamarca in the Argentinísima contest, hosted by Luís Oscar Aisa, organized by Radio Nacional, although the jury vetoed his participation in the final to be held at Luna Park for not reach the minimum required age.
In 1973 he debuted at the National Poncho Festival, while in 1977 he recorded his first album called Para Mi Poncho, in which he sang a duet with his sister Susana.
Between 1980 and 1985 he toured Peru, Chile, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Colombia.
In 1985 he signed a contract with the famous and prestigious RCA Victor record label, a company with which he recorded two full-length albums, adding to those he had already produced.
In 1986 and 1987 she shined on the main stage of the Cosquín Festival, while in 1988 she moved to Spain, where she carried out outstanding work in disseminating Argentine folk music, accompanied by outstanding performers.
Silvia Pacheco is an artist through and through. Between 1990 and 1991 she performed in Madrid at top-level cultural events, recording some albums, including one dedicated to Latin American countries and Para Mi Vuelta.
He composed different works, such as You Will Return to Life, It Looks Like Lies, The Wind Takes It, and Cuestión de Bodies. Without a doubt a voice that the public falls in love with.
During his stay in Spain he established a great friendship with the recently deceased César Luis Menotti, and also had the pleasure of performing for Diego Maradona, among other great Argentine and international figures from different aspects of art and entertainment.
Throughout his artistic career, he garnered the affection of the public and multiple recognitions.
An irreparable loss, both humanly and emotionally and for the culture of Catamarca.
