Australia has a lot of history for the Tindalls. In 2003, the couple met for the first time in Australia. In the Emerald City of Sydney, the two met while Zara was enjoying a gap year after graduating from the University of Exeter. At the time, she was traveling through Australia and New Zealand, where she met the rugby star in a bar. The two had a few drinks and have been practically inseparable ever since. Mike would later recall that he was upset because he had been dropped from the England squad for the World Cup.

Zara and Mike Tindall married in 2011 at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh and have three children together, Mia, Lena and Lucas.

The news comes amid a busy time for Zara and Mike, who are believed to have been offering support to both King Charles III and Kate Middleton amid their health battles. Sources revealed earlier this year that the couple are acting as a vital cog in the royal family machine, bringing qualities of good humour, enthusiasm and positivity.

It seems like the Tindalls can always be relied on to liven things up. A royal source stated to The Times: “The Tindalls are very much the glue of their generation of royals and bring fun to family gatherings, no matter how serious the occasion (…) They can help the family forget about the seriousness of what is happening happening,” the source explained.

Regarding the Tindalls’ standing within the family, the source said: “While some members of the family can be very ‘real’, Mike is himself and is relaxed and playful with George, Charlotte and Louis. It helps the fact that they all have children of the same age, which allows them to play together in private and bring a sense of normality to what is a stressful situation for everyone involved.
