During his time in La Charanga Habanera, Ebblis Mai Valdivia shared the stage with several Cuban artists among them Leoni Torres, Aned Mota and Yulién Oviedo.
In an interview with El Boni, as the singer is popularly known, for “Destino Tolk” the alleged relationship that existed between Yulién and the director of the Cuban orchestra David Calzado.
One of the hosts of the program asked him point-blank: “It is true that David Calzado broke Yulién’s frenulum”.
Between laughter and generating a moment of great intrigue and expectationas if he were about to reveal a great hidden truth, El Boni said that he had gone to that program to be honest.
“It’s the truth and no one can get angry about it. That’s a lie”assured the artist to the disappointment of many who hoped to continue with this joke against Yulién.
El Boni said that that idea came from a Chocolate MC livea joke that was brutal and was so viral that from that moment on the supposed relationship between Yulién and David Calzado was assumed by the public as an absolute truth.
“As far as I know, the time I was in Charanga, which was when Yulién was there, I never saw anything strange, I never saw anything strange with either Yulién or Davidwhich is already a big deal and people like it and go along with it,” he added in the interview.
The dialogue for “Destino Tolk” was an opportunity for El Boni to remember his times as a charanguero and he even sang a cappella in the program two of the most iconic songs he performed with the group.
