Sergio George generated controversy when explaining the reasons why he preferred to work with Yahaira Plasencia and not with Daniela Darcourtwhen he first arrived in Peru, to sign and produce the songs of a national artist.

“I was impressed by Daniela Darcourt and I contacted her… I’m going to tell you the truth about what happened there. She had a 90/10 contract with a promoter or businessman… I told her on the phone that she couldn’t associate me with her partners and I was in my bed sleeping and earning more than her. I can’t do that,” she detailed.

But, I only said that I did not want to be a participant in that, not to have to see if the business was exploitative or not, that’s not my problem for them. And when I stopped getting involved in that, I decided not to do anything in Peru,” he explained.
