This month, news has shaken the world of entertainment and business in Türkiye, after the renowned Czech television presenter and actress, Victoria Vera, was murdered by her husband David Thomas Blyth a 53-year-old oil magnate, who later took his own life. The tragic event generated a wave of commotion in the territory.

The woman was shot dead in her home in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, at the hands of her husband who was the owner of the international oil company ASG Inspection. The couple leaves behind three children, from a marriage that began in 2014. The television star’s sister was the one who confirmed her murder.
“It is with deep sadness and pain that I have to announce that my dear and beautiful sister, the sun of our lives that brought us so much joy, With his laughter, his positive spirit, his drive and energy, he has left us forever. Please, I beg you all, give us some time for the sake of the children. My family is going through a very difficult time because they lost both parents. “We recently buried our father and now our sister and brother-in-law and we need time to recover, but most of all we need to be here for the children.”
Although the exact causes of the tragic outcome are under investigation, some international media suggest that an argument over text messages was what started the argument, and then this man attacked his wife.
In an interview months before her murder, Victoria Vera had expressed her plans for future projects, but also his philosophy of not fully planning the future due to the uncertainty of life: “You never know what can happen,” he stated on that occasion.
A friend of hers gave an interview to the newspaper Blesk:
“Everyone followed her on Instagram, but a few months ago her profile suddenly disappeared. So I contacted Viky to find out what was going on. “He told me that the husband didn’t want the wife of an influential businessman to present herself in this way, so he complied and created a new profile, which he already had blocked from the public, and stopped sharing his sexy photos,” declared her friend, who provides details of the murderer’s profile.
Their bodies were found at the residence. Victoria’s challenges remain in Türkiye, while Blyth’s were repatriated to Scotland.
A spokesperson for the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said: “We are supporting the family of a British man who died in Turkey and are in contact with local authorities.”
For its part, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic confirmed that Victoria Vera, a Czech national, had died violently in Türkiye and that the embassy in Ankara is providing consular assistance to his family.
