Pedro García Aguado reveals what he is going to spend the ‘Survivors’ money on: “I am a recovered addict”

The television presenter and Olympic gold medalist in water polo in 1996, Pedro García Aguado, was chosen by the audience as the winner of the latest edition of ‘Survivors’. The man from Madrid, who pocketed a whopping 200,000 euros for his performance in the Mediaset format, told the ‘Fiesta’ program what he is going to allocate part of the money to.

“I am a recovered addict and I had to pay for private treatment that not everyone can access. I did it thanks to my family and a friend, Manel Estiarte, captain of the national team, who helped me financially because I was broke. There are people who really want to recover and, sometimes, Public Health does not give them the resources they need,” he introduced.

For this reason, as a good connoisseur of the reality that exists both in residential centers and in outpatient clinics for addicted people, García Aguado has decided to “finance a couple of treatments for those who really want to recover.” “It’s very hard when someone comes to you and tells you that they want to recover, but that they don’t have money.”has added.

To find out which two people will benefit from their help, the winner of ‘Survivors’ will carry out a study “of people who want to do it from the heart and not with lip service. If you are willing to make those sacrifices, we will help you with the treatments.”, he assured about a decision he made upon his arrival in Spain.

3 years of post-traumatic ‘shock’

García Aguado, who a week later still looks the same as he did after returning from Honduras, has confessed to Emma García that he has no intention of shaving his beard. “Although it makes me a little older, it is something that I want to look at in the mirror and show myself that the suffering I have had has been of some use. “I want to maintain the learning and establish it so I can transmit it.”

In this regard, the contestant has stressed that he has spoken with psychologists and that the ‘Survivors’ experience generates post-traumatic stress that “if we wanted to have it again we would have to wait three years.” This is precisely what may be happened to Adara Molinero, who was going to participate in the ‘All Stars’ version but dropped out due to a panic attack.
