He Gabo Festivalorganized by the Gabo Foundation, will celebrate its 12th edition in Bogotá from July 5 to 7, bringing together more than 170 guests in more than 140 activities distributed in various parts of the city. This event seeks to highlight the best stories and creative manifestations from Latin America and the world, with the support of the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá.

The festival will offer a diverse program that includes talks, live shows, exhibitions, screenings, workshops and master classes. Daniel Marquinezdirector of Special Projects at the Gabo Foundation, stressed the importance of the meeting: “The Gabo Festival welcomes diverse stories and narrators who rely on the journalistic method to investigate and tell reality.” Jaime Abello Banfigeneral director and co-founder of the Gabo Foundation, added: “We celebrate the creativity of Latin America and the world with meetings for journalists and citizens in general, passionate about stories, culture and creation.”

Gabriel Garcia Marquezone of the main focuses of the festival, will be honored ten years after his death and in anticipation of the centenary of his birth in 2027. CAF – Development Bank for Latin America and the Caribbean, will join this year as an ally of the festival, strengthening its focus on education and research for young people through the immersive experience Melquiades’ roomlocated in the Modern Gym. Carmen Aristegui will interview Natalia Viana about Wikileaks and the role of journalism in the technological revolution. Luz Mely Reyes, Miguel Angel Oliver and Yolanda Ruiz will discuss social polarization and misinformation.
